What would your reader expect from your ‘My Philosophy in Life’ essay (topics may differ)? Probably, some clever conclusions, observing life problems from unexpected angles and references to ancient thinkers. Well, all that seems credible; however, you should stay original and true to yourself when writing it so that it could gain success.

Life Philosophy as an Individual Choice

Everyone follows their own path and has their special way of dealing with challenges and hardships. If you are able to describe your views and approaches to life systematically, this means your views can be shaped into something called ‘philosophy’.

Human Interaction as an Example of Philosophy in Life (Essay Topics Suggestions Provided as Questions)

Another step towards building your own philosophy is interacting with others. The main problems are:

  1. How well are you capable of understanding another person’s unique traits, different points of view, and specific preferences?
  2. Can you build relationships with others efficiently, taking their motivations into account and finding common ground as a result?
  3. If yes, are you doing this intuitively or following any systematic approach?

The latter way can also be named your philosophy of dealing with people. In fact, it is often not easy to acknowledge that another person can have quite different or even opposite views on things which are very important for you. And the process of reaching mutual understanding in such a case could be even more difficult. Many say that such abilities become better as a person lives on and gains valuable life experience. Maybe, development of a certain system of views is also an important condition for gaining this state.

Philosophy Literature and Its Usage in Essay About Philosophy in Life

Now, everyone knows about the famous philosophers, from ancient times to the 20th century, and many could even provide some quotes from these thinkers’ works. There are more questions, however:

  • Does it make sense to develop your own system of views or general approach to life as a whole, when some basic notions and ideas have been proposed centuries ago and discussed many times since then?
  • On the other hand, are those thoughts from the past still relevant today?
  • And can one obtain good knowledge about real life from books, actually?

Quite probably, many of us have come across such a question at some point, and, in my opinion there is no 100% true answer to it. Some might choose to focus on books and spend years exploring philosophical ideas and disputes that were written over centuries, with one philosopher disputing with another and quoting a third one to strengthen his position. Of course, such books contain lots of information but can we invest so much time into reading tons of literature in today’s world, overloaded with information? Apparently, not everyone can do that, while maintaining a healthy work-life (or studies-life) balance. Some people may decide that only practical experience is valuable and ancient wisdom is hardly worth anything in our digital age with new trends appearing all the time. This is an understandable point of view, yet you cannot be completely sure that an information in that book is useless unless you have at least looked inside it.

My Personal Understanding of Life Philosophy

My personal choice is somewhere in between. As I decided for myself, it is better to focus mostly on practical things in life but also to keep exploring Philosophical thought through books, art, and ideas as even a small l piece of knowledge can be a precious food for thought. Digging into books while putting everything else aside is not really effective – ‘nothing too much’, as ancient Greeks have said. But completely ignoring books seems to be unwise in the long term perspective. Finding a perfect balance between these two approaches is what I am aiming for. At the same time, there is no value in judging anyone else taking a different way since it is better for everyone to decide for themselves. Instead of fighting against differences, it is better to find out how to cope with them – that is another element of my personal system of views.

Deciding about what is your philosophy in life (essay writing included) does not in fact guarantee you success in studies, career or relationship. Its aim is mostly to reach a better understanding of everything that occurs around and eventually to gain some sort of internal comfort. Such a system of views can be more or less helpful for a particular person, and sometimes one can spend years (or even decades) improving it to finally meet their life goals. Understanding as an ultimate purpose does not directly make you to become successful in life but it can help you to cope better with failures and challenges, and thus eventually take you to a new level in life.
